Psalms 23. This is one of my favorite verses and if you haven’t read it you definitely should. A couple months ago I felt that anxiety was taking over my life. I was going through things I never thought I’d be faced with and all I could think of was “God why me?”. One night I opened my devotional and this verse appeared. As I began to read it I realized that it was just what I needed to hear and wanted to share it. God puts you through situations to teach and to show you different things. Ultimately He made me stronger but in that moment it was hard to see that.

So often when things are going good in our life we tend not to rely on God. We think we have it under control and it isn’t until we are faced with a problem that we turn to God. In reality though we should follow God through everything. He is with you always. “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For you are with me'” This is just a small part of the verse but it really stuck out to me that night. I was feeling so upset about everything going on around me but was comforted in the fact that God is with me through it all even though I felt so bad. So when things started to go good again instead of pretending I had it under control and turning back away from God I turned to Him more. I thanked him for everything He has done in my life and is going to do. God knows everything that will happen in your life, you just have to trust in what He is doing even if it doesn’t feel right.
